You must be really pleased Notch, I'm so happy for you, the invaders are not being kicked out.

Immigration was more than 900,000 last year, the highest in British history.

What a time to be alive for Notch!

the heading off this thread is wee bit wrong as in he has no legal authority but the courts have??
we all need to comply with the law off the land iff some try to challenge the legality off an action it needs to be challenged to make sure it complies and is legal

Well, they have to try don’t they. No doubt it will go the same way as those waste of time do-gooding lawyers that tried to block Brexit. A waste of court time and public money. Probably give Cherie Blair something to do I suppose.

What is not mentioned, is the number of claimants who withdrew their claim upon hearing of the all expenses trip to Africa and asked to be returned home instead. The high court is being asked to rule on the lawfulness because there is no published selection criteria. What is clear, is to argue against the removal, you have to justify why you did not not seek asylum in the many safe countries you passed through. That is of course a little tricky when you are an economic migrant. Its likely the government will have to carefully publish a selection criteria which obviously needs to avoid being racist.

A perfect example of why this govt announce these schemes designed to fail.

And how many is that? More or less than the number of attempted suicides?

So where do you get that figure from and the claim of 'the highest in British history'?

Because...

Around 239,000 more people are estimated to have moved to the UK than left in the 12 months to June 2021, down slightly from 260,000 in the year to June 2020. Almost all of this net migration was accounted for by nationals from outside the European Union.

And...

The current net migration rate for U.K. in 2022 is 2.572 per 1000 population, a 11.4% decline from 2021.
The net migration rate for U.K. in 2021 was 2.903 per 1000 population, a 10.26% decline from 2020.
The net migration rate for U.K. in 2020 was 3.235 per 1000 population, a 9.28% decline from 2019.
The net migration rate for U.K. in 2019 was 3.566 per 1000 population, a 8.52% decline from 2018.

We need more young workers - fact!

We are currently heading to a situation like in Japan, with too many old people who need care and support, and not enough working people to pay taxes. Salaries stagnating, tax being wasted on other matters. It's all a bit depressing. Well, if you have a huge investment portfolio, like all those running the country, you're laughing all the way to retirement. Everybody else us flucked.
