If lockdown is being reimposed because of rises in infections...

i've been to the beach, we have a quiet one relatively local to us (mersea island) and everyone done really well with social distancing.
That’s great to hear. We go there regularly with our dogs. We are going there next week actually. Is the Company shed, West Mersea Oyster bar the Coast inn open for takeaways? We always eat at one of those places then on the way home we stop for desserts at either Maria's or Tiptree tea rooms on the way home. 10 of us stayed for a weekend in the caravan park last September. Fantastic weather and I actually swam in the estuary with my dog. Always wanted to do that.

we like it there because it is predominantly un-commercialised and you dont get the same level of idiots as clacton etc

Yeah pretty much everything is open for takeaways, the only place that wasn't was the oyster restaurant (one thats run by same people as islander fish bar)

it really is a wonderful little place, always feel like i'm on holiday when i go there.

my village has a green, every day there is litter on the grass by the benches....even though there are 4 litter bins around the green.

I was out walking the dog yesterday and watched a group of young teenagers leaving on their bikes, one lad finished of his can and threw it on the floor.....bl@@dy annoyed me, some words were exchanged, loudly.

WTF is wrong with people, I have never left litter in my life, wouldnt dream of it
apologies I knows its a grumpy old man hobby horse thing, but it just makes me mad.

the worst thing my way seems to be people ignoring the fact that the dog **** bin is full, and rather than taking their **** home with them, they just pile it up around the bin. These bins are by the entrance of the parks where people walk and kids cycle. Gross. Why can't they carry it home?

Our local trouble pub has put up a video advertising a reopening party. With live music. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen?
Does anyone know who we are supposed to report this kind of stuff to? I don't want a local spike because of a greedy landlord...

just spoke to the sparky who's doing my electrics next week and he's been in touch with his local pub, he had to book a table, there's no bar service, he's having a meal and got the table from 7 till 9, he did say you can't just walk in, checked St Austell brewery website, no updates since March. Checked my locals facebook page, no updates.
I have a funny feeling it's going to be a bloodbath, I might have a quiet night in.

That was my understanding - pubs supposed to be a more muted affair. Guess it's too much to expect everyone to behave like grown ups!

Ha ha, our local must be kicking themselves. Due to it being a Sam Smith's pub, it doesn't accept anything other than cash and doesn't allow mobiles on the premises. In addition to that it's "beer garden" probably has a socially distanced capacity of 5.

Funny how sometimes it is claimed that it is unacceptable to call people stupid merely because they disagree with what someone else considers correct and sometimes it is not.

If it is justified regarding covid - and they are stupid, how come all these stupid people are allowed to vote on things about which they know absolutely nothing?

Entirely different as you well know..Breaking rules/laws is not the same as politics..Are you going to only allow PHD in Economics/Politics/both...the vote...even then voting will differ.

wait until the party starts and phone straight away having heard several gunshots

Or phone the law and say you thought you heard someone being called a jigaboo. Ten squad cars will arrive in minutes and close the place. :ROFLMAO:

Seriously, I won't be rushing to the pub any time soon. Used to visit twice a week and would crawl over broken glass (some of the pubs I've been in this is a reguar occurrence  ) for a pint of draught ale - except for the threat of this potentially fatal disease. A pub is going to be the worst place for people following the rules - they may have good intentions when they enter, but this will soon go out the window. Can't see myself in a pub unless the virus is either very well controlled and not prevalent - or we get a vaccine. Same with haircuts - 21 weeks and counting.

HSE. The landlord has a duty to provide a safe workplace.
Non-compliance with Covid security will doubtless be very high on an inspector's bingo list.
Tell them now (supply links to the live music adverts etc), rather than hope anyone will be willing to try and rein the carnage in......

Yeah, I have, this morning. Stuck their advertising video on twitter and tagged the council, cops and local press. Had a reply from the council but don't hold much hope as dealt with them countless of times regarding previous license breaches. Still, done my bit - looking forward to witnessing the first fight in 3 months - there's always at least one there every weekend. :(
