Is there a way to remove screw blanks from light switch?

I always put the screw heads vertically, horizontal gather dust

Carefully with a Stanley knife blade.
Well,
a much thinner "craft knife" usually works better.

However, having visible screw heads or the covers for them seems (now) to be rather "old fashioned".
Virtually all wall plate fittings (and Socket Outlets) are now available here with "Cover Plates"
which cover the entire "Wall Plate" and its screw heads.

(See https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?page=1&q=switches&sort=BoostOrder
where many have "Screwless" covers.)

Similar so called "Screwless" wall plates are available in the UK
but
the range seems to be somewhat limited.

I must admit that the ones I have encountered so far I do not like either.
Cheapo Tat in my opinion and often difficult to get off.

Enhances my opinion that some modern methods and materials can be absolute carp at times and mindblowingly so.
Maybe it`s just me being an old git though!

I totally agree with you.

I am old git who grew up when people and companies had pride in the methods, materials and skills they used .

Unfortunately hordes of unwashed ignoramuses who buy only on price have destroyed that world for everybody except the very rich.

The middle ground between quality methods, materials, tools, and skills deserving of pride, and the purveyors of race-to-the-bottom carp has entirely disappeared.
