Our current lot are on cloud 9 thanks to achieving brexit, something they didn't fully expect to do. Recent sleaze problems have bought them down a bit. They will use covid as an excuse for several things that may happen in future years and perhaps some of us may wonder why other countries didn't have the same problems with it. The bank crisis and perpetual low interest rates are an example of that. Sick country in some ways. Some of that is down to how the world works. Business in general too.
The coal problems era has other aspects. One is China could get better quality coal to our docks for less than it costed here to get it to the pit head. Not true of all pits which is why some new mines still get opened. Inadequate pay rises are nothing unusual. I'm wondering when the next fireman strike will happen. We have had NHS workers demo's. These seem to relate to changes in contracts of employment. An easy thing to do now for rather a long time. Similar has been done elsewhere.
Privitisation is far more interesting as is Tory use of Corbynism.
LOL What has all of this to do with the thread title.
