The lights in my apartment are operated by a key card light switch near the entrance. This is similar to what you find in hotels. It has stopped working. How can I get it working again? The lights won't come on without it, as far as I know.
From the diagram in the "Description" it would seem that the cover (of this unit) just pulls off to expose the screws attaching it to the wall.
Turn OFF the circuit breaker,
remove the cover,
unscrew the device,
connect Line-In and Line-Out.
(Disconnect and insulate the Neutral - to stop the device from drawing any current.)
Screw the device back on the wall,
replace cover
and
turn ON the circuit breaker.
If it is mounted on a wall-box,
you could just join the Line-In/Line-Out wires within that box,
insulate the Neutral
(using appropriate connectors)
and
use a Blank Wall-Plate to cover the box.
