In some situations, it is much more desirable to use a fuse rather than a circuit breaker.
When I was an apprentice we were still installing BS 3036 Wylex rewireable fuse boxes. I think I’m showing my age now
When we moved into this house in 1994 I upgraded the installation to a wylex with rewireable fuses, in fact between 88 and 94 I installed a number of them but did fit some MCBs in them too.
I prefer to use a fuse for a submain, some how it just feels the right thing to do.
