Makerfield

I heard Burnham being interviewed about various things. He's a lot like Starmer, no particular principles about anything, just vague promises about making everything wonderful. He doesn't seem to have any more concrete ideas than Starmer. I reckon he'd be OK working with Starmer and will give him a job, in fact Starmer will probably demand it in return for politely standing aside after Burnham becomes an MP.

Then Burnham and Starmer's henchmen will bang heads together behind the scenes to ensure that nobody else stands, to avoid a leadership election.

It will be like Blair's handover to Brown - reluctant but swiftly and politely dealt with.

still ass uming burningham will win that bye-bye erection and a Labour leadership contest.

got money on it?

No, but a large dollop of hope.

He's a decent bloke who's done well as mayor and I think he'd do well as PM.

He'll make the remaining labour supporters long for the good old days of Starmer.

Bring on PM Burnham, we won't need much popcorn as he won't last long.

Him and Labour are in much more trouble with the people than they even realise.

You couldn't make this stuff up, but it looks like Labour may win this just because everyone hates them.

I'd also enjoy Labour winning, just to watch them self-destruct under commie Burnham.

Either way, it will be very bad for Labour.

So labour looking even worse
I'm getting the feeling you are not a Labour supporter?

Given that I live in the UK in 2026 then that's a fair assumption, along with at least 80% of the rest of the country.

I'll really enjoy PM Burnham crashing and burning in a great fireball of economic catastrophe. It will be damaging to the UK in the short-term, but good in the long-term as Labour will never get elected again.

Lefties will have to vote Reform in future, as they'll be the most left-wing party remaining. Otherwise it'll be Restore or Tommy's Party.
