I requested online access to my medical records, long ago and regularly check in, because I feel I have to...

Today, I checked in and happened to spot a note against one med, of which I was about to run out. It suggested it needed to be reviewed by a medical pro. Had I not logged in, had I not happened to check myself, I would have been completely unaware of the need for a review.

I'm fairly IT savvy, but what about the less able? How does everyone with no internet access find out about these reviews?

From what I remember, when you ring to order a repeat prescription, they sometimes tell you that you that you need a review. Then they ask how many days of tablets you have left. People don't end up without medicine.

You're supposed to have regular medication reviews if you're on recurring prescriptions. Typically that's annually but it varies depending on risk and other factors.

I'm on repeats, 8 of them, so the reviews are often flagged. I have never had a text or call from them, to remind of a review, just the mention when I need a repeat, via the web app.

just go to order medication on line a week or so before you need it and any requiring reveiw will say something like "require to be reveiwed by a medical profesional before reissue"

Anyone with a long term condition has regular checks from their health providers. You would need to be living off grid, away from civilization, along with 'do not disturb' personal preference settings on all of your devices.

I guess if you were blind and deaf and living in a cave - you might struggle.

This is the ultimate thread resurrection

So those pills couldn't have been vital
The diabetes pills I got were doubling me up in pain. It happens, I looked them up and they should have given me modified release ones if they'd checked my notes properly.

In the USA off label, they're about $5 a month
NHS pays about £15 a month. They are CHEAPER than the normal ones, in the USA.

I was counting out all my week's bl00dy pills last friday or so, and fell asleep. I'd stopped at 70 something.
I haven't taken any of anything since except tramadol. CBA.

I've got all sorts of tests going on but they want to see me to give me even more pills, BEFORE the results.
FFS.
