Need A Multitool...

Has anybody used one of these
£50 to sharpen £1 blades? At the risk of being overly cynical, I will put it into my, too good to be true bucket.

i use saxtonblades with mine - i bought their kit, but on a recent job i purchased some of there more expensive blades for channelling out some sockets

Top marks for saxton blades, always good offers on and cheaper that SF or TS.

Pricks ears up.....

Chopping out for sockets, you say?

Where do you get these socket-chopping blades?
And, for that matter, the others?

Thanks.

well not socket blades them selves - just use a flat blade to cut the hole and breakup - even using a drill , and also used grinder as well , and the channels SDS drill

I'm sure i did see a tool - BUT for the few i had to do - and now have a few more , not worth it

and these - BUT for dewalt fixing

Not used one so can't vouch for them, my feeling is that a standard flat blade would be easier.

Thanks for the suggestions, fellas.

One for me to think about, although it's not as cheap as I was thinking!

A friend said , hey you have a cordless DeWalt drill/ driver. Why not get a bare multitool and use the batts/ charger you already have?

Is this compatible with the XR 18V batteries I already have? They are only 1.5Ah, so might not last long.

Dewalt are excellent with backwards compatibility so shouldn’t bd a problem

i see they have a 3 speed version now available - I know the 3 speed on the impact driver i use different speeds a lot - not sure about the multi-tool - BUT again just a DIYer so maybe not the variation for usage

The Milwaukee one as an auto function, it starts to speed up when it feels resistance.

I’ve had a few and this one is the best by miles

It sounds like a great bit of kit and if I were still in the trade I'd probably go for it.

I have not long got home with the DeWalt thing and it looks OK. TS had a single socket cutter for it too, so I got that to try it out. I can use it to do doubles too.

Fair play.

I use mine all the time. I’m doing work at home too, it’s a god send really.

I hate woodwork

that would be interesting to know how it goes, as I have to cut some out in the next days / weeks 6 odd single / double boxes

is this the one ?

and they have cutters for an SDS - which i also have , thats intersting , as you say get a single and use on a double (and in my case a triple)

interesting
edit
the reviews are not great
