I often hear the term "Quad Bike", does that mean a vehicle with 42 wheels or 24 wheels or 8 wheels? I have no idea!

You sit on it and it has handlebars so it’s a bike. Quad to distinguish it from a unicycle, bicycle or tricycle.

They type farmers use, usually are AWD, the type do-as-you-likies ride are normally real wheel drive.
Can be ridden without helmet a motorbike license. Subject to the vehicle.

I appreciate this is a forum where questions can be asked, however surely a quick Google image search answers this?
Well quad is 4 and bi is two, so quad bike is a nonsense term, it can be a quad (4) or a Bike (2) but never a quad bike unless it is 42 (or even) 24 or better still 2 x 4 = 8, I suppose we might stretch it to 2 to the power of 4 or 4 to the power of 2 for fair play. So what the heck is a quad bike then?

Actually I reckon it could also be 6 wheels too, quad plus bike rather than only quad and bike (4 x 2).
But never just two or four only.
It might just be daft thing that people say - like for example - 5AM in the morning - 5AM can only be in the morning it can not be in the afternoon or it would be 5PM not 5AM.

In this case, the word bike the word bike is used as a noun, not as a number, and the work quad is an adjective.
The adjective is describing the noun.
Therefore, it is a bike with four wheels.
Nope. a Bike has two wheels otherwise it is not a bike.
Like a bloke asked me for a doorbell that is not electric.
I advised that a local hardware shop had some clockwork doorbells and some pneumatic doorbells for sale, I had only got mains and or battery ones, He said he wanted a battery one cos he thought they were "not electric" what the heck did he think they were? Oh yes he probably decided they were quad bikes I suppose!
