Guy who lives up the road from me works (?) for the council as a plumber 8am - 5pm.
He must be a quick worker- seeing as he's always home before 3 or 4pm.

Bearing in mind that council workers have flexible hours. He's possibly on call out one week out of every four.

Plumbers, Mechanics, Roofers, Solicitors should all be wearing masks and stripey jumpers as a compulsory uniform.

Should be made law.

Same as building control offices. A while ago I called a BCO three times in the morning before he got into the office. He was then in the office but in meetings. Then he'd gone out on site visits. No phone call back of course. I called again three or four times after 3.00pm, when he was supposed to be back. No phone call back and then at 3.45pm the receptionist cheerfully tells me he's gone home and could I call in the morning. Brilliant.

Before BT was privatised, nearly all their engineers used to be home by about 2pm most of the days, and signed off for the rest of the day.

So what, FFS?

Perhaps he has not got an ugly wife to make him want to be out all hours

Now they're home at 2pm but don't plug the lap top into the phone socket to sign off till 5pm

In fairness they do have to use their own electricity to re-charge both the laptop and the company mobile, and it can't be easy sitting around watching them charge up for 3 hours a day.
