I nominate the A38. So long, so straight, no scenery.

What's the most boring road you've been on?

Montreal to Quebec (Canada) & when you get to Quebec if you dont speak french, they wont talk to you, probably stayed there about 2hours. The road straight, flat & lined with pine trees.

I was stuck on the M11 near the A14 junction a couple of years ago when they had the 'big' snowfall and did 3 miles in 13 hours !! That was fairly boring.......

E40 Calais - Ostende. although not much traffic: very, very, very boring

Oh yeah, I found Ontario to Montreal quite boring. The size of the waggons though!

However I must say I found the the opposite of the Quebecois, they would switch straight away when they realised and were very friendly, polite and accommodating.

Sitting in traffic jam - which ever road... Especially around the Midlands.
:(

All this Montreal talk reminds me of a drive I had to do for work, from Montreal to a meeting the next day is South Deerfield, which is Western Massachusets. The roads were heavily patrolled, and you got pulled if you did above 55mph, so it took about 8 hours and I was able to find nowhere that sold anything even vaguely approaching vegetarian food on the way (not even a cheese sandwich) so I was starving hungry by the end of it as well.

The next morning I went to the meeting and as I arrived, they were just setting up a loudspeaker on the lawn outside. The guy I was visiting told me they were about to have a company meeting, so could I come back in one hour. When I came back, he had been made redundant and escorted off the premises, and no-one else relevant was there to see me.

So I went off to Boston, spent an afternoon whale-watching and then had to drive back to Montreal the next day to catch my flight home.

My hire car had about 32 miles on it when I picked it up, and about 4000 when I dropped it off a week later :D

The M1 where it runs through Northamptonshire up to the M6 junction. It's the oldest bit of motorway in the uk, the bridges are old and weathered and it all seems to be surrounded by hedges and embankments.

Very dull.

A22 the only good bit is thru the forest and the ice cream van there ;)
