I really like curries, but find it hard to get them without swimming in oil around where I live, same the Chinese places. Ruins them and makes me suffer later

I'm not sure if there's any truth in it but I've found curries that are from Pakistani restaurants to be full of oil compared to Bangladeshi or Indian. Of course a lot of it is for the British palate and nothing like what you'd expect to get in said places. Proper Indian is more vegetable oriented.

Curious, do any of you have gray peas and bacon often? Proper black country delicacy.

Do people still sit down to Sunday roast every week, like when I was a kid? I've no idea.

We do here, usually every Sunday. We also quite often go for a mid week carvery at a local pub/restaurant. Surprisingly, their (self serve veg) carvery, is the cheapest meal they have on offer.

For dinner yesterday, we had a frozen Chinese chicken stir fry, with a potato waffle to give it a bit more substance - quiet enjoyed it.

Pizza would be my favourite, closely followed by curry, then Chinese or Thai. I'm not much of a fan of roasts though. I quite liked Harvester for a cheap meal out when the kids where younger and messier. For a supper with friends, I often bang out some flat breads, spicy sausage and halloumi with home made garlic mayo and roasted veg. Kinda like a kebab.

I had no idea Wanstead has sushi. Am there every Thurs and never noticed much past the pie and mash shop. Will tell the other half, be well pleased - ta!

As you get off the M11 round the roundabout towards London. Take the 2nd turning left ( up the ramp ). Turn right into high street. It's on the right next to 2nd big pub

I don't really much like finger food, I'm a plate and cutlery obsessive. I have never had a kebab, rarely eat fish and chips out, I only have them sitting at a table on a plate.
