That and the fact that I 'may' be getting a trainee audiologist had turned me off of them. I’ve had it done three times before with no trouble and without signing disclaimers.

As it happens, we had a door-to-door card pushed through the front door, offering earwax removal, in the home. Just a name and a mobile phone number. As if anyone who valued their hearing would entrust it to an individual, who just claimed to have been trained.

I’ve booked with Click hearing for Friday where I’ve been before. A proper hearing specialist, no disclaimers and a guaranteed grown-up professional sticking things in yer lug ‘oles!

30 minutes though - it’s never taken more than about 5!

It's back. My ears are clear now and the choo choo train noise is more prominent during the night just gone.

I do have a cold but think it's best not to get this checked out.

I’ve booked with Click hearing for Friday

I tore my arse off on my bike yesterday to get from my workshop in East London to click hearing for my 4.30 appointment at Upminster yesterday as I only remembered at 4.00 that I had an appointment. I got there with a couple of minutes to spare. As I pulled up on the pavement outside, the two women were just putting the electronic shutter down and were leaving. When I told them I had a 4.30 appointment they said I didn’t. They phoned the Hornchurch branch who checked the online booking system and although they had my address, they said I hadn’t completed the online booking. They asked if I had email confirmation, which I didn’t do I said I’ll book again for another time. They looked relieved that they didn’t have to open up again!

Unfortunately the days of GP with big silver syringe sending the tide of warm water in then back out (that's what it felt like) complete with any gunk, compliments of NHS are over.

Weirdly, my Surgery has re-introduced it "from 30 January 2024".
No doubt it won't be a GP performing the procedure though

They don’t use the syringe in the surgery these days. They use a low pressure pump, pumping warm water in. Usually done by a nurse.
