Todays Job

Now lighting up everyone’s Xmas. Just knocking up some lighting control units to fix to my favorite lamp posts. I am like Santa’s helper in my mobile workshop.

Two huge spiders in my way. This is the only downside to my job. Having to rid these out of my way being careful not to make them jump into my face as I am 10 metres in the air

I have recently been cleaning our gutters, you need to be prepared mentally whist so high up on some wobbly ladders, that a massive spider may suddenly pop out and go BOO - they're up their skulking, slinking, prowling and lurking
Exactly. You just can’t trust them. Some may be friendly and others like these just want to fight you. They picked on the wrong guy today.

I have the same task ( replacing 20 year old control gear )

what is.jpg

What is the function of the component I have marked. ?
I use a slave relay controlled by the time switch to avoid damage to the time switch by the inrush current.

Mains done. DPI installed. My work here is done. Off to where others need my help.

The only thing that slightly disappoints me about this picture is the fourth green container half way up the rack.

It's squint :(

As you know I, along with many others on here, think you are perfection personified. Therefore, I won't be the only one to be slightly surprised to see the squint container.

Can you please reassure me and others this was only a temporary thing and that all containers are now straight again?

Rest assured that is a one off as if you notice the opening I had to work with it was a miracle I got it on at all. I often get compared to a neuro surgeon for how precise I am. In the future you will not see this but I was battling spiders and had to get in and out fast.

It is a fuse holder. We install a DPI at the bottom of the column with a 10A fuse and we down fuse the lighting dependant on what lights we fit. Some are in the range of 2 to 10 Amps.
