I don't understand electrics. It looks very neat. What is the white horizontal bar.
It's just a dado trunking, you can put the sockets anywhere you need, ideal in an office or a garden office as this is
 
It starts off like this you just slot the back boxes in where you need them and cut the lid to suit, not very exciting :oops:

Thanks, I've just had a look on the internet. I was wondering what sort of building it was because I've never seen one in a house.

The chap wanted 3 sockets I suggested this to him as he can add if he ever needs to.

It would probably look better with the sockets sunk in as normal but it was already boarded when I looked at it, he was happy with it and it was easier for me so I'm happy :)

It is probably better for home offices to look more office-y than a normal room. Concentrates the mind! And stops people from posting on GD all day when they should be working :LOL::LOL::LOL:

I’ve seen quite a few terrace houses with some of the ring main in trunking.

It’s easier to steal when they leave too.
 
Putting power into a victorian shelter today. I had to rejig the whole installation because there is a nesting pigeon right where my cables were to come in.
