Two Firefighters killed by an EV fire in Spain.

Not sticking up for any one
Fact is two firemen lost there lives due to a fire with EVs
It’s been reported in here that
People have lost there lives after being attacked by dogs

Bully XL dogs or pit bull dogs ?? Or should one not mention the breed ?? Because the attacks are only a small proportion of all dog attacks ?

Fact Is they are generally more violent may be ?

Same as a car fire incident which is worse or harder to deal with on an EV car ????
Harder. EV fires are less frequent but harder to put out and firefighters aren't used to them yet. They also burn differently and have toxic smoke. Having said that I'd assume they would be using masks anyway if they're indoors.

Clearly a lot went wrong, it's very unusual for firefighters to die on the job in the UK or Spain.

I’ve been considering solar with battery for quite a while, but the increased risk of fire puts me off.

I’m wondering about building a small outhouse for the batteries and inverters, I’d be interested to know if this would be compliant with the rules, don’t see why not
T
Tesla have sold nearly a million powerwalls and they claim they haven't had a single fire caused by the power wall. There are a few news reports that disagree. The power wall goes in the garage and it would be fairly easy to install a powder 6kg automatic fire extinguisher, for less than £100. I'm sure others will comment on whether 6kg of powder is enough. But my guess is it would be more than enough.

Iirc, while the above may be true, bully xl attacks have made up the vast majority of fatal dog attacks in the UK in recent years.

Just call all such incidents

Dog attacks and not mention the breed

Same as cars

Just call it a car fire

As have people to dogs other than pit bulls and XL bullies

Should be just called a “ car fire “

And same goes for dog attacks

And leave it at that
Eh?

Those brave firefighters died as a result of multiple cars on fire. What's your point or relevance regards EV's?

Many, many more. But matty wants to create an atmosphere of fear because he prefers diesel and petrol cars.

NO, I wanted to let you know that an EV car fire was the death of 2 firefighters in spain, just like the rest of y'all like to let the rest of us know something that was in the news.

If the point is that firefighters died, that is tragic. As is every death in service.

So why mention the cause of the fire?
Because it was the cause of their deaths, the initial fire was from an EV.

Do you think he'd have written "A sad loss...because of ICEs" if it was an ICE car?

Over to you, matty.
I have not seen anything mentioning 2 firefighters in Spain dying due to ICE cars.
..tackling multiple car fires.
The only reason it was multiple car fires was because an EV car started it and the fire then spread to other cars.

In case you did not actually watch the video:
Within the first 40 seconds of the video the experienced firefighter (So I'll listen to him more than you) explains that he would not expect an ICE vehicle to set on fire like this, most vehicles are not as prone to setting on fire just because they hit a supporting column at low speed. Reports say the batteries were on fire fast, suggesting something punctured the battery compartment starting thermal runaway and the consequent fierce fire, then filling the garage with toxic smoke & flammable gas which resulted in a large explosion.
One firefighter was killed instantly in the explosion due to the above, the other died shortly after due to the toxic smoke.
14 other firefighters were injured and at least 1 was still in a critical condition.

Stick up for EV's all you want, however they ARE more dangerous when on fire especially when in a confined space such as an underground garage.

Yes, it's a sad day in Spain because of EV's.

No, those firefighters died due to the explosion from the EV releasing the massive amount of toxic/explosive gasses that an ICE vehicle does not release.
It was not your typical ICE car fire.

I have not seen anything mentioning 2 firefighters in Spain dying due to ICE cars.

Fires from petrol and diesel cars are so common that news media don't bother reporting them. They may merit a few lines in the local paper.
