Getting back to the plot... I think most people agree that in response to a crime, a punishment is due. The problem being discussed in this post is... what do you do if you feel that the courts haven't punished the perpetrator sufficiently?

One answer is that the political parties are falling over each other to promise or deliver tax cuts - inheritance tax, income tax, fuel duty in particular.

Why?

Because voters care about them. Politicians want to get elected. they find out what voters care about and try to make then happy.

That's why they do more for old people than for young ones. Old people vote. Young people don't

If voters cared more about it, than they do about not paying taxes to strengthen law enforcement and justice systems, so would politicians (and hence the government)

Of course, it might help if we didn't believe the lie that the typical sentence for gang-rape of an underage girl was 18 months suspended. But lurid stories sell papers. People like to hear and repeat them. I blame the cyclists.

Your posts always seem to make sense,but you spoil it again by a silly statement, as johnd pointed out,also your previous post was ok till........
The only reason prisons are over crowded is murders are not put down like the rabid dogs they are so society has to feed and house them and give them free medical and dental.


Not all are guilty, are they? history shows this.

There are some guilty with out any doubt such as son of Sam who killed inocents and rapiests who attacked children or parents on drugs that killed their children .

When a person is proven without any doubt and say given 4 life sentences why bother to feed ,house and keep them around?

if a wasp lands on your arm and stings you.. what do you do?
a. swat it quckly?
b. get an old jamjar and move the wasp away from any humans so it can't make the same mistake again?

if a gang bursts into your house in the night, tie you up at gunpoint, and drag your 13 yr old daughter by the hair to the next room and make you listen to three of the masked men rape her.. do you

b. tie the culprits up and pour petrol on them and watch them burn?

and the sentence is for you, say 15, the rest of your family then feels the pain.the main man has gone.

Not in a country that feels a person has the GOD GIVEN right to defend their home (Castle) by any means to protect their loved ones.

What the main stream media will never print is how a 73 year old man saved his elderly wife by using his WW 2 M-1 carbine to stop several criminals careers by ending their crime spree once in for all.

What never made the news was a young girl who is 14 managed to put down a home invader that had entered their home as her bed ridden mother was in bed and he came in through a broken window and a well placed shot with a shot gun ended his crime spree.

Knowing people were in the home is the worst type of criminal as a regular burgler would wait until everyone went to work not attack at night with a bed room light on.

The liberals of course would have liked to have seen bed ridden lady lies helpless as she hears her childs screams as she is raped and murdered and the home ransacked by knife welding thief as protecting ones home is not an option in GUN FREE Zones

Joe would you have felt better if he used gasoline and set the house on fire as everyone slept thus causing more global warming and adding pollutants into the air ?

Here he was kind enough to use lead and brass which can be quite easily recycled or he could have used an ax or knife or taken the family on a one way drive off a mountain road.

Next time I would hope some mad man gets the idea of getting a glass bottle fill it up with gasoline place a rag on the top light it and then toss it,
