UK PM Theresa May announces plan to call snap general election on 8 June

if circumstances change, you mean? Do tell...

Circumstances, eh?

Did we have a new referendum that changed the result? No.

Did we have a General Election that changed the party in power? No.

Have we changed the Constitution? No.

Did somebody elect a new Prime Minister? No.

Does Brexit still mean Brexit? Yes.

What are the circumstances that were announced in September, that have been announced to be different today?

The people voted leave. Remember?
TM would have been like minded with most folk. The UK would most probably vote to stay in the eu.
I'm sure that's what she wanted.
Don't you agree?

Someone needs to tell Rog that the referendum was on the 23 June 2016. TM made her pledge not to hold a general election AFTER the referendum.

Ahh is that like the election pledge that Labour made a few General Elections ago, that they would offer us a referendum on the EU. The one they subsequently forgot about (until they lost the next general election) Hmmmm

Correct.
However, this latest stuff is more recent and hugely relevant and effects us now. The recent lies will help to shape the way the country is going. There has been an unprecedented number of u-turns and lies by the likes of May and Boris et al that it is hard to distinguish what is the truth and when they are being sincere.

How did Labours lies effect the country Judith?

Remember to tell your mate Rog about those dates.(y)

Correct.

Because, had Labour honoured their election pledge to give us a referendum on the EU, they'd have been elected again. As it is no one trusts Labour to do anything right. They can't even give us their thoughts on Trident, only hinting that it's under discussion (but also that it's policy to keep a nuclear deterrent,,, Yep under Corbyn that'll probably be one warhead the size of the first atom bomb dropped on Japan, mounted on top of an Astra firework or two. )

What has this got to do with the current lies being spouted by the Tories and The Brexit Bunch?

One is relevant and effects the future. The other is irrelevant other than it shows that political parties tell lies.

Did you want to discuss something else Judith? Do you wish to start another thread?

Something I don't think anyone has mentioned -

What was the point of the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011?

It was to prevent the incumbent government from taking unfair advantage of the citizens by calling an election at a time most favourable to themselves.

Like Theresa has just done.

With the proviso now that it must have a greater than two-thirds majority in Parliament.

So - why did they (Labour, that is) vote for it?

Corbyn said today it's because a party in opposition wants to have a crack at getting into government.

You should tell johnd that.
His image depicts TM holding a "I'm in" placard and hypocrite at the bottom.
What do you think jd is saying? Does jd even know?
