UK PM Theresa May announces plan to call snap general election on 8 June

As it is May who wants the election, you might have thought the opposition would have opposed.

What's going on?

UKIP has decided not to challenge any Brexit supporting MPs during the election. They are also anticipating those Brexiteers who traditionally vote Labour but are not fans of Jeremy Corbyn's socialism will drift towards UKIP on this occasion. This is going to be the most tactically focused election in a long time. Bring it on!!

Surely, they may as well vote Tory.

Perhaps UKIP would do better if they campaigned to remain in the EU.

What has this got to do with the current lies being spouted by the Tories and The Brexit Bunch?

One is relevant and effects the future. The other is irrelevant other than it shows that political parties tell lies.

Did you want to discuss something else Judith? Do you wish to start another thread?
Not at all Nosey, no need to start another thread about lying politicians from all parties. You point out that May has lied. I merely pointed out that Labour lied. Christ they all lie Nosey. Blair lied to parliament (then blamed it on bad advice) Cameron lied when he told us if we voted out, he would head the Conservatives and take us out. Within an hour of the result being announced, he stood outside 10 Downing St and told us he was stepping down. (no doubt looking forward to receiving his parliamentary pension). I bet if you look throughout recent political history, there's not one honest politician amongst them. All they are in it for is the bloody money. After all, it does seem to be a rather lucrative career .

PS , please learn the difference between effects and affects .

Surely, they may as well vote Tory

Lesser of the two evils game. Labour voters that want Brexit would reluctantly vote UKIP or possibly Lib dem, but might not go as far as voting Tory.

The confused ones will be the Labour voters that know Corbyn is dangerous, but voted to remain; they'll most likely switch to the Lib Dems

Get a grown-up to explain to you that her placard said nothing about holding an early election.

Your image shows TM holding a placard with "I'm in". The bloke beside her is holding one saying "britian stronger in Europe"
Get a grown up to explain it to you that TM wasn't even pm when the image was taken.
You idiot.

foolish rog moaned about the placard in response to this post by noseall

Someone needs to tell Rog that the referendum was on the 23 June 2016. TM made her pledge not to hold a general election AFTER the referendum.

Rog can't tell the difference between theresa reversing her position on Brexit, and reversing her position on a general election.

I suppose it might be difficult for him

I wonder what her next reversal will be. Perhaps it will confuse rog even more.

Rog can't tell the difference between theresa reversing her position on Brexit

TM never reversed her position on brexit. Just like a lot of her cabinet who voted to remain.
Its just that they respect the referendum result. Obviously something you are having difficulty with.

I suppose you were hoping for a weak and treacherous pm like corbyn or the likes of your beloved bliar to go against the will of the people after a referendum.

Oh roger you are funny.

If another referendum came up TM would vote remain. Just like a lot of her cabinet.
You seem to be living in some kind of fantasy world.

Thankfully and ultimately politicians don't steer this country.
