Vasectomy II

me, sit down job, no thanks.

But as I had heard so many stories i thought it best to have a week off, mind you i did get a lot done in the garden, but i did rest for a couple of days. The doc said the ideal thing to do is to lay on the sofa and watch tv , so i did.

Mine says in his literature that you should watch a DVD & have a beer....Cool!!

So you can rest the cold can against one's throbbing nad's !

Yeah I've been getting achey balls since I had mine seen to. Only lasts a few seconds so it's nothing to worry about. What you do need to worry about is that the doctor gives you plenty of anaesthetic! Tell him you have a low pain threshold.
I forgot to mention, I wrote my doc a letter saying that I had to remove my own stitches after 2 1/2 weeks because they showed no sign of dissolving. I said that I've had the stitches in a bowl of water since taking them out and they still haven't dissolved. He replied and said that it can take between 2 and 4 weeks for them to drop out and that water will not dissolve them. Apparently it's enzymes in the blood that dissolve them.
So now you know - sitting in a bath won't make them fall out any faster.
Good luck for tomorrow.

Cheers, mate. Much appreciated!

And thanks to all who have contributed to this. It's been a great help to hear everybody's experiences.

I'm off to my Ma's after the op., to keep away from lobbock-crushing bouncy children, and she has no PC, but I'll be back before the weekend's out (or maybe early next week) to let you know how it went.

Well..the deed is done!

Before the op., I approached the doctor with the Radio 4 piece, and he said that some men do get pain, and the medics are not sure why.

I asked for the local to be sprayed on rather than injected, and he said he's given up this procedure, as the local gets on his fingers, too and the last thing patients want is a numb-fingered vasectomy!!

So I had a needle or 4! The right side was OK, minimal pain from the jab & the microwave dessicator caused no pain, but the left side was bad. The local did not numb, so when he came to micro-cate the vas deferens, it was agony...So I had three more needles in that side before it was pain-free...

The smell was odd, too. I'm veggie, but I remember the smell of burnt pork chop.

It was just like that. When I commented to the quack, he said that's just what it is. In some parts of the world, he added, humans are known as long pigs.

There was only one puncture wound in the scrot um. Both sides were done through that, and there are no stitches.

On my way out, I realised the smell I noticed when entering the room must have been the previous guy's tubes going up in smoke.. :?

he wont know for a while yet, mine was 3 months before i had to give a sample

Glad to hear all went well(ish) Simon.

How was the peace and quiet away from the kids?

In the case of this guy, his victims have to wait 4 months before sending in a tadpole sample. No sex for a whole week, though. :x

Great! I felt a bit knocked back after the op. How can you tell 2 young boys (2 & 3 1/2) that after a lifetime of leaping on Daddy's lap, you can't do it anymore?

I watched Gosford Park & The Day After Tomorrow, and took a copy of What Car? and two books I got for Xmas from Mrs Secure:

I am finding this a fascinating read. Lighter moments (if there can be any in a war) include a field cook leaping onto the battlefield to rescue some pieces of donkey for the pot after an explosion...

Haven't started this one yet!!

It was good to have a break, but nice to get back to your own bed.

Well at least it's over with now and you can demand plenty of BJs and when all is well and you're firing blanks, sex - occasionally with the wife too!
