What are you having for breakfast?

No piccy, but a rather tasty brekkie of fried egg on toast with a twist.

Under the egg was some chopped fried organic chestnut mushrooms and melted on top of the fried eggs was a little grated mature cheddar.

Smoked haddock, lightly poached in milk with a trio of poached eggs.

Just coffee and toast today. Later, for dinner, we just put a sausage casserole on - in the new multi-cooker, as a trial. It has a pre-program for it, which suggests it will be 140C for 70 minutes.

Well, that didn't last long. It shut down completely, after around 30 minutes, it stopped cooking, the displays went off, and the plug fuse tested as OK. So the casserole had to be transferred to the old, single setting, slow cooker. The new one goes back in the box it came in, and back to the shop for a refund.

What are your cholesterol levels?
I’ll let you know in a month or so as I’m due for my annual blood checkup in March. Fish is good, eggs, not so. Yin and Yan. I’m having more granola, porridge, youghurt, fruit etc for breakfast these days compared to fried stuff.
