I dont think you can be made redundant, if the company has gone.
I might be wrong..But dont think so.

yes you can, and he should have given you a leaflet when he laid you off.

IIRC when your job becomne redundant because the firm has gone bust, some of it comes from the taxpayer.

you could do a lot worse that go to the CAB.

Assemble as many old payslips and P60s as you can, and don't give them (the originals) to anybody to take. Tell them they can have a photocopy if they want.

thanxs guys i've read that you can claim one week wage for evey year so thats one weeks wage x 15 so thats about 4 1/2 grand, and i only had 3 days holls this year so i think i can claim holls aswell, the gaff is 75 and theres only me and hid grandson who were working for him ( doing loft conversions ) the part that i'm confused about is the liqudation bit, how do i get money off him or the social fund ?

If the firm has gone bust, then the only payment you will get is statutory redundancy, from the government.
Unfortunately, you will lose your holiday pay and weeks in notice.....

If however, he has not gone bust and is just closing down the firm, you will be entitled to any earned holidays.
And as you have been there for 15 years, you will get 12 weeks notice payments as well as redundancy..... :D

But only up to a max of £330 per week. Unless you have it written in your contract

Cheers

Richard

company i worked for went to the wall because of the tax man. but the (ex) employer gave us some forms to fill in and send off, about claiming from the govenmemt (as previously mentioned)

as the ex employer said you cant claim money from us because we have gone bust, we have no money.

but do read the links and fill in as many forms as youi can, we all never got that much, but it was worth it.
