BG Strike

Who's going to cover for all the BG agreements when their employees go on strike??

Anyone else get an e-mail from BG looking for contractors & what sort of money are they offering?? My mate said they'll pay you £65/hour, plus Polo shirt. Is this correct?

Yes ive had an email from them.
They can stuff it. they should treat their own blokes properly then they wouldnt have to worry about strikes!

I wont be helping them,nor should anyone else.

Strike do they think they are a Pre- Maggie Nationalised Organisation Stuff the lot of them . Let them sell their shares to live on through the strike

I had an email from BG too.... Hadn't heard anything about a strike.... Think I'll look after my own customers.

They must of emailed every contractor on the Gas Safe register, everyone I know has got one..................So it looks like a strike is imminent!!

yes, I worked for bg two years ago on £23 an hour and that was the cap in my area. no one will get £65phour!

you only get 6 hours for a blr swap 13 for a conversion with rad vlvs
25 for a rip out an full hit

take no notice of these toe rags

salesmen get all the profit off the jobs..

They have been in contact with us , couple weeks ago now , we won't get involved , as someone else said previously , b.g should look after there engineers a bit better , its always the bloke at the 'coal face' that gets shafted , by some pen pusher's good idea , or iniative , British Gas management ????

Lol I can just see all the bg guys go on strike while they hastily set up one man bands to be paid twice the money to do exactly the same job.

Bg have been pushing the engineers to strike for months, presumably to test the water with a contractor workforce....they really do think anyone doing manual work is stupid!

It probably is 65 quid a job before the agency backhanders!, be lucky to end up with half that.

are you sure about that? after being told off by paul barker a while back i had better be careful but the contractors round here wont be getting close to our direct labour standard of work.

sort of odd that BG has sent out thousands of letters asking contractors to work during the strike but haven't sent their own engineers anything to ask them why they want to strike in the first place, not everyone is happy with the GMB line.

I don't really see any contractors round here tbh but I do get a lot of customers who specifically request direct labour only. I don't know if that's quality of work or the fact they are paying a premium for what they perceive to be a premium service.
Bg want a strike and have been trying to force one for months that's what bothers me....not that I don't trust em or anything.

I wouldn't insut all the BG Engineers by blacklegging, and if BG are like most out of control nationals they'l take 120 Days to pay an invoice!!!

most of BG engineers now days are ex window cleaners
