From an educational point of view (im in 2nd year of 2330) why does this product have type C MCBs. Wouldnt a type B be a safer solution. I cant think of examples of why you would use a type C in this environment.

This would be used in conjunction with an RCD so the disconnection time of the MCB under earth fault conditions would not be an issue - although, that said, there are trains of thought (including mine) that think an RCD is not a solution for poor Zs (in TN systems)
If the pitches are TT'd the RCD will be compensating for higher Zs anyway which is un-avoidable.
