They (or at least liberalistic people like them) perceived the very mention of the word "black" to have racist connotations. )
Black is not considered to be an offensive term is it? I do remember things that are acceptable changing over the years tho.

WTF is singlish ? I despair for the future of this country.
Cor, overreaction or what? Despair?!! Grins.
I think language is interesting, new words are added to the dictionary every year as language changes.

Where did I say I disapprove of the tee shirt? Not my style admittedly but I wouldn't bat an eyelid. I can understand why people would find it offensive though.

You are silly Judith.
Hmmmmm
No it is not a fact. They pulled that shirt because it is offensive (to a far reaching and influential audience)

And you just had to agree with those who thought it offensive, didn't you, otherwise you'd be defending the aforementioned t shirt.. Admit it Nosey, that t shirt gets right up your nose.

It was a toxic product or else it would not have been pulled.
It wasn't a toxic product to everyone.
I don't know if you read comments on other websites on this story, but there were a lot of people who were left a bit miffed by the whole thing, no understanding what the fuss was about.

You surely can't argue that there is a lot more treading on eggshells these days about racism and what is PC, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but at the same time folk are so quick to be offended. It seems a lot of common sense has gone out the window.

Oh, and the original comic strip in which the Walking Dead is based on.
Was that T-shirt really offensive?

. I just see it as another gimmicky garment. I don't agree no. I can understand why a company like Primark would pull a toxic product though.

What is a 'toxic product'? Does anyone really believe that a TV corporation with a public image to maintain would approve the design of a T-shirt representing one of its most popular shows, if it was racist? Would stores across America stock it if it was racist? Why did Primark stock it in the first place unless they too considered it not racist? Can something be 'accidentally' racist? Why is it only considered racist here and not in its home country -surely racism is universal?

The trouble with policing language at the first claim of offense is that it is reduces to the lowest-common denominator: the person with the lowest 'offense threshold' (or the person most willing to pretend to be offended to get attention).

Curious how often it is someone claiming to be offended on behalf of someone else. This is deeply condescending since it implies the 'true victim' is too weak, stupid or inferior to speak for themselves. The soft bigotry of low expectations. (Or that the 'true victim' is unaware of the offending article, and therefore is not a victim at all, in which case the complainer merely considers it a thought crime. And we know how that ends).
