British have had enough

You are convoluting two different issues.

Bigotted refers to out and out racists, but xenophobic refers to a fear of outsiders.
It is possible to be either, not both ;)
Indeed it is, and as I said it's also possible to be either - or indeed neither...

However again you fail to get the point...

You said, "Anybody here that makes any comment about immigration is always shot down as a bigotted zenophobe"

Note the words you used - 'anybody', 'any', and 'always'.

You have definitively linked 'bigotted' and 'xenophobe' here, and made it perfectly clear that you believe this is the reaction to all who raise the immigration issue...
A totally sweeping (and erroneous) statement...

Unless of course you didn't realise what you were saying ;)
Actually, I think it's you who is making this convoluted.

By the way, convoluted means to make more complicated, difficult to follow, extremely involved such as in a plot in a book.

Your post about Notch convoluting two issues doesn't make sense, unless you are trying to say that he has confused the two issues?
Which he didn't. You did.

The trouble with Xeno"phobic" is that it really means "an irrational fear" of foreigners.
A genuine fear of foreigners (e.g. terrorists) would not be xenophobic but sensible.

For out and out hatred of foreigners a different word should be used - misoxenism? - but such accuracy is not demanded, nor wanted today as confusion is the name of the game.
Of course words are misused both out of ignorance and on purpose; the more unclear the better in order to label, malign and silence those who disagree with the accepted thinking.

So, it is unlikely anyone can genuinely be both a xenophobe and bigot.

It's amazing how those who have been caught out usually try (unsuccessfully) to put the boot on the other foot...

Sadly for you and notch, the boot doesn't fit ;)

Unless race is the real issue.

Which leads a bigot to view all those whom he/she doesn't identify with in a fearful/prejudiced manner - usually based on the actions of a few that the bigot believes to be the beliefs of the many.

Oh I do get the point....

The point is you've just had to admit you are wrong.

You said:

Now you are saying it is possible to be both

Which is it?

It doesn't say that!
To 'lead someone up the garden path' - to mislead, deceive, hoodwink, or seduce.

Mislead - give wrong information to
Deceive - deliberately cause someone to believe something that is not true, especially for personal gain.

I believe in parliament they call it 'untruths' ;)

And his colleague...

"We were running a campaign deliberately aimed at making fun of people."

And on how the gullible lapped it up!

Lets be honest, the real person at fault was David Cameron who made a manifesto promise of a EU referendum to quell elements of his party and the rise of UKIP.

Add to that, Theresa May's disastrous decision to call an election so we now have a very weak government, with no power to make any decision.

And only formed with the DUP....how ironic with the Irish border complication.

You really are making a complete fool of yourself...

Which bit of "Indeed it is, and as I said it's also possible to be either - or indeed neither" did you not understand?

It's you that is stating definitives, not me.

But hey, if you want to play the semantics game I can run rings around you in my sleep...

Softus knew it and now his 'follower' is having the same problem ;)

None of which is the same as 'admitting a lie'.

As a pedant, I would have thought you might appreciate the difference......clearly you are a 'selective pedant'

On that I can agree with you...

But we are where we are, and the villains of the peace we are talking about here were those who lied to the electorate in order to stoke the racist/xenophobic fires that were erroneously smouldering!

Unless race is the real issue.
I don't see why it is limited to race.

Mmmm possibly, but that would mean the bigot holds his views because of an irrational fear.
Would that actually be bigotry - intolerant towards those holding different opinions?

I suppose it might be but it is more likely that bigotry stems from actual dislike or hatred rather than fear, rational or otherwise.

And you are the same old 'pedantic semantic'...(y)

Trouble is, you fail to see that there is more than one way to 'admit a lie'...

Probably why you are so easily hoodwinked ;)
