Yes I know there are the political and ideological biases of all the independent news outlets, but am I wrong to expect more from the BBC?

BBC Vs Daily Mail. Which is more overly dramatic again?

What is it with you people?

Have I worded my post so badly that you can't understand it, FFS?

I may be biased here, but I don't think it's me who has the problem.

Yes, you are in denial. Are you suggesting the UK's worst recession should be brushed under the carpet by news agencies? Sky News and many other news outlets tell the same story, Woods.

I never had you down as a conspiracy nut-job.

You claim the Beeb is deliberately making everything sound bad about the UK. But compared to what source? The DM seems to be using much more negative terms.

What is your unbiased, or less biased, source of media of choice?

If a decent chunk of the rest of the world disagrees with you then you should consider the possibility that you're wrong. It doesn't mean you are, but it means you should consider the possibility.

The role of the BBC is to let you who your enemy is, whether foreign or domestic.
The BBC is the public information wing of the Guardian reading elite.

With highs of 33° expected AGAIN today, it's time to ask "could the government have done more?" Downing Street knew about this heatwave weeks ago and have done nothing. Shipments of 400,000 pairs of Speedos and 500,000 bikinis, sun cream and Cornettos have reportedly been sent back as unsafe after media claims the shipment was quarantined a month ago and Boris did nothing.

Karen from Chavington said, "We just don't know if it's safe to go outside and sunbathe because we can't function or think for ourselves. Boris hasn't told us either way and all my obese kids need ice cream and sweets, my chap can't get out to rob anyone so we're out of lager and weed, I blame the government entirely"

Meanwhile, anti- heat protesters dressed in thick jumpers chanting "cold lives matter" have marched on London, Big Ben has been removed and a giant Mint Feast put in its place by protesters.

The BBC reported earlier, 'clearly the sun has come out and Downing street have done nothing to prevent it.'

A second heat Wave is expected to hit the UK in 4 weeks time .

What is it with the BBC's reporting style nowadays?

The wording, style and content always seems to be not just alarmist but biased towards the latest cause or the "anti" this or that movements. It also seems to be actually anti-anything the government do, and Britain generally. They purposefully choose adjectives and verbs to make the bad news sound much more negative, and will invariably add negative "buts" and counter-arguments to any positive news, to down play it

Latest today includes
" UK plunges into recession ...",
"T
he UK has crashed into recession"

but then mention

"Economy bounced back slightly in June"

The graph they include shows the "plunge" was -20% and the "slight bounce" was +8.9%

In the same item they add the negative comment to the [positive] bounce article "However, there's plenty of concern about how firmly that recovery will be able to take hold within the confines of social distancing and local lockdowns".

But they don't add a similarly positive comment to the [negative] plunge article.

And then there is the copy paste of Americanised words and phrases, and writing acronyms as words. Plus the analogies are clearly not related to the UK - "as big as Wyoming" or suchlike.

Yes I know there are the political and ideological biases of all the independent news outlets, but am I wrong to expect more from the BBC?

Maybe once we move past 3 word slogans from the Government.

Reporting has moved from finding and sharing information to getting cosy access to the Government.

You want the BBC to be run more like a for profit company - well they want to increase views and an easy way which works is being sensationalist.

If you want a return to good old reporting then stop Government interference in the BBC and stop the Government from using trusted journalists to get their message across.
