Back to School!

I agree pubs should be the first to shut being non essential, but the knock on effect is thousands of redundancies at both pub and brewery level which will in turn create more poverty which will in turn cause more deaths. The economy needs to keep going.

Code Z59.5 is a much bigger killer than Covid.
Will save a bit for the NHS though.... all those fights, drunken mishaps and alcohol poisonings at the weekend..!

.

Which again, is what I said.

My son and daughter need to be back at school and learning.

I've worked through the lot (luckily), been stuck at home and spoon fed whatever the TV channels deem appropriate is damaging people's ability to think and make rational decisions.

I was on my arse for 2 months January/ February bad cough, tiredness etc but I'm not jumping on the Covid 19 bandwagon. Seems like the Emperor's New Clothes syndrome..

Coronavirus: Children's role in spread puzzles scientists
https://www.bbc.com/news/health-53946420
It seems illogical to me that children who have the virus, for up to three weeks will not spread that virus.
Sure, because they are asymptomatic, they will not be coughing or sneezing, but kids scream, they shout, they're boisterous and noisy, they're cuddly and need attention.

it mentions the kids not coughing or sneezing because they do not have CV symptoms.

But young children are notorious for picking up a constant barrage of winter colds because they have no immunity to every strain they encounter, so the classrooms will be full of sneezing and coughing.

In a staggering display of competence and skilful preparation for a key event,

New government guidance, published on Friday night, comes a few days before millions of pupils go back to school.
'Guidance' or 'new rules' regarding virtually anything are often issued on a friday night...

Because of the hope that another news event will occur that blots out the bad news and also leaves no chance of scrutiny!

Borisconi will of course be in a pre-prepared fridge, so the 'leadership' can't be challenged...

So in the end it will be the headteachers who will have to make the decisions based on ever changing 'dictats'!

But look on the bright side...

'Social distancing' will cut down on 'nits'!

When kids go back to school, every year there is a bout of colds and flu in Sept. How are we going to tell the difference? Testing is going to have to be very fast... I wonder if the schools have support in this?

luckily, no children have parents or grandparents who care for them and are older, and teachers are magically immune.

So it will be no hardship to a child who has a mild illness but loses their mum or gran.

And the schools will cope just fine when teachers are carted off to hospital or worse.

In my district, crematoria were overwhelmed in April, so we should probably increase the death rate but hold it just below maximum capacity.
hysteria

Do not follow that idea JD.
or just accept the inevitability that a number of people will die during a pandemic and ruining a whole economy is too high a price to pay.
so balancing death against the future of the country is common sense.

You tell us why the government has a deliberate objective of increasing the number of deaths.
i think he meant the government has finally realised that the cost of a whole economy is too high a price to pay for blanket lockdowns. and a balancing act between mortality rate and economy going forward must be struck.

The flaw in that argument is that if it were one of your own becoming 'collateral damage' you'd no doubt be squealing the loudest about why 'nothing was done'!

the nhs has never been so efficient in my lifetime . can see a doctor , get prescriptions, and the wife got an xray within 1 minute , yes ONE minute of arriving at the hospital yesterday.
just goes to show that the system was being killed normally by huge amounts of people who didn’t actually need it .
