Where have they gone? Looks like those 27 EU drivers (plus the 100 from non EE countries) that applied to work here that plenty on here mocked, were more than enough. See, everything sorts itself out in the end. Don't panic.

Well, everyone filled up, so that puts quite a lag into the system, so i suspect we may see as before a few garages not get delivered on some types of fuel for a few days as was happening a few weeks before the media created a panic.

Have the army stopped helping out?

It's a good thing that you are retired and not 'out there' competing for deliveries. The UK supply chain is a mess and that's putting it mildly.

There never was a shortage. Looked like media hype and the people obliged. Same ones who cleared the shelves of bog rolls and pasta last year. Could also have been a ploy to clear out the tanks to make space for E10. Who knows, but the sudden rush highlighted the weakness of our logistic industry to react to sudden increases in demand.

Xmas may be interesting.

There is no issue with fuel stations, there wouldn't have been either had the press not caused a blind panic for no reason.

Other deliveries aren't to bad either, Amazon prime is still delivering next day, the toy shops appear to be full of toys, I can still get dedicated couriers to travel the length and breadth of the country within a couple of hours...

Getting parts from Europe is a pain still, need to add a week on deliveries depending on what company we use.

We've found DHL to be the best I can still get parts from Denmark delivered next day garunteed if I order before 1pm.

TNT/FedEx are useless, though TBF they always have been brexit is just showing them up more..

During the petrol pandemic we did have an issue with deliveries but this was caused by the lack of fuel not lack of drivers.

My Tesco's online orders still arrive every week with everything on there with only 1 or 2 like for like swaps.

Although there is a shortage of drivers I think the whole saga was engineered by the haulage association to force the government's hand because they didn't want to increase wages and conditions.

Well, I'm just a consumer who buys fuel. I remember shortages and queues because of a shortage of tanker drivers. There's no shortages, queues or closed stations so what's happened? Reasonable question.

Did they ever start? I never saw any army trucks or trucks with army drivers near me. Did anyone see them?
They did, they were mostly driving civilian vehicles I believe.

Also, do we know how many EU tanker drivers are currently working? Because that 27 might have become larger by now.

STEALTH - Modern forces are good at that ;)

They operate 24/7 quietly in the background to keep us all safe and sleeping soundly in our beds at night. :)

there are considerable ongoing problems as a result of HGV driver shortages.

supermarkets offering high salaries are stripping away other sectors.

there’s is now a critical shortage of glitter lorry drivers….councils can’t compete with higher wages.

I’ve just waited 5 weeks for some double glazed units - Theres a shortage of glass / drivers.

There’s a shortage of smart meters as well due to delivery drivers and panic buying
