But who ends up paying? We should do about what the French have done. Sort the costs from the top.

There was a report that wood is selling rapidly in Poland. Also at the price it is pensioners can't afford it.I may also stick in a wood stove in the living room.

In addition, UK householders and industry are heavier users of gas than their European counterparts, who are more reliant on electricity.Reports say the French gov told EDF what to charge. Seems gas is plus 8%. I believe they still have a fair amount of nuke as they went that way early on. They could subsidise EDF which is state owned anyway.
UK has other problems. Reserves really run down rather than being maintained. Saved on maintenance costs. I heard 1% storage whereas typical is 25%. That means we need to buy in a hurry. Not sure if we have shut any nuke stations but it was mentioned. We have had problems getting them built again. It looked like Japan would then dropped out - not enough money in it was mentioned. Took a long time for EDF to start but that is probably down to finding finance. Sounds like we have enough for another now. It appears rely on institution type investments coming along.
Seems Germans are having to pay ~25% more. No info on why and how etc.
to prove that claim do you got link?In addition, UK householders and industry are heavier users of gas than their European counterparts, who are more reliant on electricity.
