These times that we live in. How did it ever come to this.

There's a famous 1950's photo of a USofA auto worker stood with his wife & 2.6 children outside the home. Most folk don't understand the relevance of the image, they gaze fondly at the working man, the housewife, the 2.6 children, the automobile parked in the driveway of the 3 bedroom bungalow on a 1/4 acre property.

They do not understand & cannot possibly comprehend that the image reflects a day when all that could be achieved on just one salary.

if the working man could have a good standard of living, today's announcements wouldnt be such an issue.

but for those at the top to have an excellent standard of living at the expense of the worker? As per today's announcements, it's not right, is it.

You know what mate, when they increase the price of some things I breathe the sigh of extreme content. I can afford to do things which are important in my life. without bothering with the hoi polloi getting in my way.

earning enough to have a house, family, be able to afford to feed, cloth and keep them warm, with enough left over to have modest holidays and leisure activities. Without having to have tax credits and similar. Just a wage.

Doing what job? Any job? Every job? Never going to happen. Never has, never will. Like it or not, there are low paid but necessary jobs that have to be done every day for you that you expect to be done. How much do you think they pay those that stack your supermarket shelves, collect your rubbish, sweep your streets, cook your burgers, cleans the public toilets you use, wipes the arses of elderly people in care homes, pushes patients around in hospitals etc etc or don’t you enjoy any of those services?

Gordon Brown was the only member of the Labour cabinet opposed to joining the Euro, Blair wanted to, the rest of the cabinet wanted to.
You may recall we didn't join the Euro, does that mean Blair wasn't PM when we thought he was?

you may think it's ok not to reward effort regardless of the job. I disagree. A wage should be enough to be able to live on
