And there was indeed no holocaust in the 1930's...
However I think Lineker would have been more accurate to have said 'it resembles the rhetoric of the 1930's' and not single out Germany...
Because many European countries and the US were reluctant to take in Jewish asylum seekers because of economic reasons and antisemitism.
For example in the US the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1924 placed quotas, and was after the great depression used to try and prevent those fleeing persecution to enter the US...
But what the tories are proposing is far more draconian than that and must be called out!
However it may turn out to be an 'own goal' because I have a feeling that the tories will privately welcome this 'diversion'...
As it plays into their hands as regards what their plan is for the next GE campaign...
Blame it all on 'foreigners' and ignore the fact that they have been responsible for totally screwed up the UK themselves!
