Sure, no-one has argued that being born intersex is the only reason that people choose a different gender to that assigned to them at birth.
I'm open to your suggestion of these other reasons.

Many of the numerous scientific and medical articles already provided explain that an indeterminate sex characteristic is not always obvious.
And mistakes made at birth become obvious in later development.
