Woman and Sex, means biological sex.

But I was accused of only posting things which agreed with my view? Well, duh...

"Why shouldn’t children with intersex be raised in a “third gender”? We advocate assigning a boy or girl gender because intersex is not, and will never be, a discrete biological category any more than male or female is, and because assigning an “intersex” gender would unnecessarily traumatize the child."

Sex essentialism (the belief in binary sex characteristics) is associated with prejudice against non-binary people.
It's just a statement, nothing more, like the parachute one (it was claimed).

Do you not agree that bigotry usually gets people nowhere?

Himmy doesn't understand that anyone can write an article with any view they like.
Doesn't mean it's the absolute truth.
Himmy unfortunately is not the sharpest tool in the box, bless him.

This article is written from a religious perspective and relies on the premise that binary sex is the norm, as evidenced by this paragraph:
intersex conditions are exceptions to the sex binary, showing only that there are exceptions to a general rule of human beings’ sex—not that human beings’ sex is not either exclusively male or female. Moreover, these exceptions are generally disorders, i.e., disorders of sexual development (DSD), disorder implying a lack of order, i.e., natural order of human sex = male and female.
If this was posted earlier, then my apologies. This is my first awareness of you posting anything to support your theory.

That article doesn't support the theory that sex is purley binary. Their whole argument is predicated on sex being binary. And differences of sexual development is a disorder from the norm.

Rather like God exists because there is no proof that he doesn't.

"I provided a much stronger argument for their conclusion that intersex does not violate the sex binary. I showed this by problematizing Tuleda et al.’s (2020) argument, and replaced it with the strongest argument that holds the conclusion that “intersex” does not violate the sex binary. I did this on purely secular/nonreligious grounds (addressing Murphy's complaint) using the arguments of Byrne (2018a, 2018b) and Soh (2020)."

This is an opinion of Bo Laurent, aka Cheryl Chase the founder of Intersex Society of North America (ISNA), now defunct, since 2008..
While her aims were admirable, the article is based on her opinion.

Do you not agree that bigotry usually gets people nowhere?
I agree, and I know that the belief in sex essentialism (i.e. binary sex) is associated with bigotry and prejudice against transgenders.

It's all opinion in this field, it isn't like a mathematical proof. Some people have different opinions, which you seem to want to disallow.

But the article fails to use any scientific principles to support the idea that sex is binary.
The arguments are predicated on the conclusion that sex is binary.

From the article:
First, it does not provide positive evidence for the thesis that sex is binary—it only shows that most human beings are male and female (which is not being disputed).

It's all opinion in this field, it isn't like a mathematical proof. Some people have different opinions,
I wouldn't disagree with that. But the belief in sex essentialism overtly or inadvertently supports prejudice against transgenders.
In addition medical science has been slowly coming round to the idea that sex is not binary, hence the numerous medical scientific articles available, and the numerous guidelines for neonatal specialists to follow in order to identify differences in sexual development.

which you seem to want to disallow.
I have repeatedly said that you are entitled to your opinion.
When that opinion is based on entrenched outdated beliefs then it deserves to be scrutinised.
But if you wish to cling to it, that is your choice and your entitlement.

That is the nub of it. Opinion and terminology.
Science is slowly educating society.

It took a long time for science to debunk the "race" fallacies, and it's still an ongoing struggle for science to convince the race essentialists. that their beliefs are founded in bigotry.
It will take a long time for sex essentialists to be convinced, and some diehards will never consider giving up their sex essentialist belief.
