First of all, I'd like you to read this post in great detail to avoid any distortion, and if you're going to add to this post, please reply back in a civilised fashion - To give some background, on Friday I registered my account on here to ask a question in relation to my home theatre setup. I was under the impression, according to a brief search history on that particular forum (AV), that I would get great answers from some of the members on the AV forum. A few hours later, since it was a Friday afternoon and given that I was free, I re-opened this forum not only to see if my query was answered but also to browse different threads posted by other members.
I then got greeted by the General discussion.

Supposedly, a place where topical issues should be discussed.

Although, based on my past history on other forums, I knew how forums operated and the general known principles behind them, I still thought to myself it would be necessary to check if there were any rules containing information that new posters couldn't post on a particular forum, say the GD, until they had reached a set number of posts or stayed on the forum for quite a while - they weren't any in sight. Convinced that I would be allowed to take part in any of the threads unrelated to my particular thread/sub-forum of concern when I first joined the forum, I attempted to quote some of the posts that I had found concerning.

After taking part in a thread and quoting a few messages without breaking any rules, I was, for no apparent reason, told that I was someone called "Himmy". Whoever that is doesn't matter, but why on earth do some people here think it's acceptable to accuse someone of being someone else without any evidence?

I want an explanation from the posters who accused me falsely, and I want the mods/admins to put the accusations from the posters who do it regularly to a stop because it severely undermines the fabric of this forum. If there is hard proof that shows someone is X, then it could be argued that people could say it - although it isn't 100% sure if this is still allowed, but accusing someone of being someone else without any reason should be totally disallowed.

Now, I know some of the members here would say that apparently my posting style was apparently similar to Himmy's posts, and BTW that's what they had initially said - but it's the contrary. I am not Himmy. Would any of the posters who accused me for that very reason show how someone supposedly posting as another person means that he must be, DEFINETELY IS, that person? In addition, I only made around 6 posts, and those aren't even representative enough because of the small sample size to draw conclusions that I was Himmy - which goes to show how wrong these posters were, and it's a tactic to swerve away from the discussion.

Unless, IMO, someone has made several thousand posts, it might be possible, although far, far far from guaranteed, to ascertain whether they were using another account, assuming they had another account that regularly posted on that forum.

The posters who were accusing me of Himmy all ganged up and reported it to the mods/admins. The admins had no proof to hand, took no genuine interest in seeing if whether I was Himmy or not, and instantly they banned my account. So mods/admins, would you explain why you did that, and why you think that is in the best interest of the forum to remove my posts that were genuinely good and deleted my accounts entirely?

Ooooh - The reason for the ban given by the mods was apparently that I was spamming.

So could the mods/admins show how my posts were qualified as spamming? I await with great interest for your explanation.

Subsequently, I emailed the administrator because once one is banned, you get an option to email the admin if the ban was done in error - explained my stance and what happened, and to this moment I haven't got a reply, hence why I've made this account and writing up this thread.

Why can some people's racist and unacceptable posts on this site remain, but not some of my posts that showed how unacceptable their posts were - why?

Why do some people accuse one poster of being another poster when they aren't that poster? why?

Why do the mods, knowing that false accusations undermine the fabric of this forum, let posts that contains accusations remain, and delete my posts that were completely civilised - why?

Why do the mods act without any proof and evidence and instantly utilise the ban hammer - why?

Some of the posts that were sent by a few posters on Friday. The quotes below are all a pack lies, BTW.
It's got to be Billy. look at the replies he is making.
Here'sssssss Himmy.

Do one Himmy, you're banned.

Billy is back.
Why do mods keep letting this person re register.

Himmy has never been able to hide his posting style :ROFLMAO:

I have reported this. I like reporting.

They must like me having fun.....some of the best times on the forum is when he re-joins and again when he buggers off.

I have just reported everyone one of his 10 posts today
This was my reason given---

Billy is back, nip in the bud this time pease

Looks like all the new billy's posts have been removed

Looks like the mods did a good job on this as all "his" posts have been removed. Its the only way to deal with him - report everything straight away.

As soon as I realised who he was, I also swooped into action. our mods are the best mods of any forum. More work to do but they are on the right path.

Here's SPLINE accusing Kraven of being Himnmy - so it shows that these accusations have been going on for a long time. Utterly unacceptable.
He is still here as Kraven, see post 129.

I wouldn't want Himmy banished - I like him, he just posts too much and ruins a thread. He needs a daily post cap maybe, a metaphorical zip on his mouth, like Zippy from Rainbow.

More posts, and it's getting boring now. AIUI - people launch out the word Himmy when they are losing an argument.
Himmy's on a roll...

Is himmy back?

He’s got plenty of user names in stock.

Himmy meet… Himmy.

Welcome back Himmy.

Himmy's back.

Your on ignore you fruit cake himmy

Assuming what ever you said was in response to the tall buildings / gays

give it a rest himmy

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Similar to the phrase, "If it quotes like a himmy, spouts bollux like a himmy, it's a himmy."

Shut up Himmy.

So, I want an explanation from both the posters concerned and the mods as to why some people on this forum think it's OK to accuse others of being another poster without any evidence.

And I want the mods to explain why they thought it was OK to remove my civilised posts, but not the posts from others that broke the forum's rules.

And BTW - now that I have explained that I'm not Himmy, no one can have the audacity to accuse that I am, and in doing so would result in contravention of the forum rules because I am sure that accusations without any proof or evidence are disallowed.

See, again - one of the posters who took part in the pursuit is falsely accusing me of being Himmy.

Surely, you can provide proof and evidence that I am Himmy if you really, genuinely hold that belief?

It looks like you clearly DGAS do you, fillyboy.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
What doubt do you have that when I say I'm not Himmy - I'm not?

Why do you posters keep doing this sort of thing?

What are you looking to achieve?

If you could provide me with pointers that are driving you people to lash out these false accusations, then we can have a genuine discussion - but if you're going to stick with those accusations made without any justification, then replying back to your posts is useless and far from worth doing.

Just ask about your home theatre system then? Who cares...

That's only conditional on none of the posters having made those unwarranted false accusations, but they did - so that gives me full right to ask them why they think that I was Himmy.

You might not care because simply you were not accused, but I was accused falsely.

If you were accused falsely, would you let it just go past by? Would you sit there idling while others made false accusations?

I don't know who you are or really care . You said you joined up on Friday, however you profile said this afternoon??

I made an account on Friday, which unfortunately was banned for no valid reason. Frustrated, curious to show that I'm not Himmy, in-the-hopes-that-certain-posters-would-stop-spreading-false-lies, I made this account as well as this thread - though am under the suspicion that I'm going to get reported to the extreme, to the extent where the admins will ban me again.

How disappointing.

Off you pop son to one of your other forums to be concerned over posts.

Nope and neither do you matter, you have shown by post No1 that you are not a new member simply asking DIY questions then suddenly appear on the GD. See ya.
Oh and leave petes tenna on the way out.
