Yes I know. Fun isn't it but the numbers I quoted and comments came from the BBC and 4x would be correct if the other factors weren't applied to make it turn to 2.
The figures I found showed better survival rates but didn't account for age - as some one mentioned when I posted it. In fact it showed that they did better
Problem with using age is that CV19 is more serious as people get older so it could be down to say the 50 to 60 or any other age group. It might be being compared with none ethnic deaths in the same range. That could be down to actual body age or a number of things. Some press will pick the highest possible number. The beeb reported both one including the correction factor. The SAGE related lot want to do their own study so keep being asked what they are going to do about it especially within the NHS.
One thing that struck me was that the differences don't explain the high % of white deaths in England as there are not enough ethnic people about. Haven't checked the latest regional figure but don't think they can "catch up". There are notes on the above as well. No ethnic info for some and lots of pending cases.
