Brexit my erse!

You cannot simply ride roughshod over the majority of the people of NI and ignore their aspirations, not to mention the people of RoI.

As long as there is a border and Whitehall calls the shots I couldn't care less if its hard or soft.

Sinn Féin and the Republic have nothing to offer. It is a post colonial nightmare in the Republic which has driven out thousands. It is estimated that there are 40 million Irish in other countries, while only 5.7 million people reside in the Republic’s jurisdiction. It is a failed state and any concept for a united Ireland would yield similar results for Northern Ireland.

As long as there is a border

Who knows how long that will be?

The next government is unlikely to keep paying vast amounts of money to buy the votes of a handful of weird extremists.

Better than paying vast amounts to the EU with nothing in return.

Nothing?

I geddit. You mean once we leave, keep having to pay with zero influence at the EU table. What idiot would vote for that?

Evidently, yours is not the majority opinion.
By a long way, the people of NI, rUK, ROI and EU do care that there is no hard border, so much so that a 'backstop' has been written into the Brexit agreement.
IF UK government cannot or do not produce a credible solution to the border problem of NI/RoI UK will be remaining in some form of Customs Union, like it or not.
Instead of repeatedly telling the electorate that UK will be exiting the CU, TM would be better occupied searching for that elusive solution.

Roger also blatantly misrepresents an opinion posted by a reader in the "letters" page as an opinion of the Irish Nationalist "Irish News"

Well actually it is. A majority in NI want to stay part of the UK.
That means the border staying put.
Dumb republicans think the loyal people of Ulster are just gonna roll over and accept a border in the irish sea.

So where do you want the border to be?

The NI majority probably don't agree with you.

A majority in NI want to stay part of the UK.
Pure speculation, or probably more like wishful thinking.
That means the border staying put.
Staying put where it is now.........nowhere!

You have not only demonstrated your own prejudice, but been rude to your fellow countrymen, who happen to have a different political opinion to you.
You have been rude about them, merely for having a different opinion. Are they not allowed an opinion?
Do you think your opinion is the only one that should be allowed?

The real authors name was clearly appended to the comment. You could not fail to see it. You chose to omit that and attribute the comment to the paper.
Tut tut.

You do not agree with devolution for NI then?
You prefer to see DUP resist the reformation of Stormont Assembly?
Whatever it takes, eh?
