How does banning large scale gatherings and sporting events etc.. but allowing kids to go to school making sense??

The reason he is banning large scale get-togethers is to try and reduce transmission. But schools, with 1-1.5K pupils are still gathering.

And the latter is necessary if you want to avoid thousands staying off work just to mind children.
Was just speaking to a guy about this today and he said shutting the schools is madness.
