Just had my renewal and its £230 more expensive than last year and ive not claimed . This really needs sorting out by this pathetic goverment as its really starting to take the p**s .

Welcome to rip off britain.........mine went up over £200 ......I have not claimed for at least 15 years and have full ncd

The insurers are in league with the crooks - instead of investigating - they all put the premiums up.

Almost a licence to print money these insurance companies. They have us motorists by the short and curly's now. Knowing that many police vehicles are fitted with ANPR cameras and us fairly honest motorists won't dare drive without insurance, they see us as easy prey.
What's needed is government intervention, or some enterprising chap to set up an insurance company that offers realistic premiums and start a price war.
Won't hold my breath though.

PS, my present car was valued at £300, (fully comp insurance) and guess what?? They gave me a £300 excess on my insurance. So effectively, if someone TBoned my car ( and I wasn't at fault) I'd potentially end up with no car and no insurance payout. (hope I get whiplash though or a broken arm/leg if it did happen)

You have to claim to get your money back. I would - whiplash or no whiplash.

Joe,its Thursday night, not Miss Whipy night.
Remember you got caught out last time like this. The fine is still outstanding.
Alzheimers ehh!!!

You can add the lawyers and the doctors who do the phoney medicals into that list. They're all on the gravy train and everyone is paying for it.

I got tail ended on the A14 about 18 months ago.
Still getting calls from Claims companies telling me i was awarded a payout and just need to give them the go ahead to claim it.
seems the other parties Insurers have awarded me £3.K for my injuries. Even though i insisted no one was even remotely hurt, and stated such on incident reports.
"yes" they say, "but this is a Catagory C incident"

Get this - for the effects of having to wear a seat belt.!!
ffs.

For some reason she hasn't rung me since laughing at her and telling her to fck off.

On the railway a few yrs ago, reading the paper in the van as a passenger on the way to work, no seatbelt, the driver touched another van, and i mean touched it, the slightest dent in the wing.

12 claims, the person who examined me in manchester, asked where it hurt, i said you tell me,paid out,and on the statement, i was a true historian

There was a set up. in Sheffield I think, a few years ago. Council 'staged' a minor bus crash and invited travellers on the bus to submit their claims.
Over 120 people put a claim in! All were prosecuted for attempted fraud as only people involved were council employees who were in on the act.

Don't believe it. Entrapment is illegal. They could sue the Council.

Interesting what you've done there with your insurance because I've done something similar
I would despair at the thought of a nice car getting dented in a supermarket car park. Which it has. So I drive around in a nice looking Fiat Punto which I paid £350. I am prepared to to loose it if I crash but I will claim off the others insurance if it's their fault. If its my fault then I will not claim and right the car off because in fact it may be good for spares etc.. I have a £650 excess on it fully comp, protected no claim bonus for £150. It started in the 1st year on offer at £95 and has gone up to £150 over 2 years.
After all even in a small repairable crash the insurance company will right it off and give me some of my £350 back but I would no doubt have had to pay a much higher premium. Which meant that I would have paid several times over, no doubt.
I would not use the insurance people to fight my claim so that I would not have to pay the £650.
Not sure whether my way of doing things will work out but hope.
