Channel migrants face lifetime ban on returning to UK

Obviously @Notch7 has no take on this. Didnt see them. Not happening. Nobody is abusing our system. They are all genuine refugees.

Yer, right.
Ah yes, how predictable…..a right wing supporter focuses on One nationality only.

Its what you do.

”oh look I’ve found one supermarket full of tomatoes…so must all be full of tomatoes”

”oh look I’ve found one foreigner that’s a criminal…so all foreigners are criminals”

“oh look I’ve found one person scrounging benefits…so everybody is a scrounger”

”oh look Boris Johnson is a liar….so every politician must be a liar”

Come on Mottie, your false arguments are so transparent.

LONDON — A former Conservative MP who repeatedly criticized the European Court of Human Rights is taking the U.K. government to … the European Court of Human Rights.
Owen Paterson stepped down from the U.K. parliament last year after a House of Commons probe found he broke its rules on paid lobbying. He has now lodged a complaint with the ECHR claiming that the investigation breached his right to a private life under
the Convention’s Article 8.

Bit of history
The UK government also wanted to limit individuals’ ability to go to the European Court of Human Rights to complain about rights violations. Eventually it was agreed that states could decide whether or not give individuals the right to complain to the Court and whether or not to accept the Court’s jurisdiction. (These choices were set out in ‘optional clauses’ which states could choose to accept or not).
.
,
Lord Layton stated: “the right of individual petition is perhaps the most fundamental”. Eventually, in 1966, the UK accepted the optional clauses. In 1998, Protocol 11 to the Convention made the right of individual petition compulsory.
They throw their documents away
:ROFLMAO: The majority of displaced people come from countries where most people hold passports. I mean they must do so they can holiday in Spain etc. Are you feeble minded or something?

The predictions of these latest measures are they will fail along with those tried before and it's more about winning the next election by putting labour on the spot.
If this proves to be so where do we go from here if potentially a 100,000 can turn up by small boats this year.

Don't be a plank all your life Notch.

They throw their documents away so they can pretend to be 14 years old and from Syria, when they're not.
How does that help their claim Andy?

I guess you didn’t know it is the responsibility of the asylum seeker to provide the proof.

If you think home office procedures aren’t rigorous enough, please share the evidence

These latest measures aren’t designed to work, it’s just a Tory game: when it fails, they can say

“oh look we came up with a solution and we’ve been stopped from doing it: so blame them”

There are no easy solutions.

The best way forward is:

1 throw loads of money at home office to speed up processing of claims.

2 throw loads of effort at getting return agreements in place, starting with Albania (which they may have now)

Like hostages to fortune then, mad world is a bit of an understatement then.

535 000 first-time asylum seekers applied for international protection in the EU Member States in 2021.
Syrian, Afghan, Iraqi – main citizenships of first-time asylum applicants in the EU in 2021.
Germany, France and Spain - main countries of destination for first-time asylum applicants in the EU in 2021.

The annual number of asylum applications to the UK peaked in 2002 at 84,132. After that the number fell sharply to reach a twenty-year low point of 17,916 in 2010. It rose steadily throughout the 2010s, then sharply in 2021 and again in 2022 to reach 74,751 applications, the highest annual number since 2002.

The number of people granted asylum by immigration judges rose from 8,495 in fiscal year 2021 to 23,686 in fiscal year 2022, according to the report.14 Dec 2022

LOL Whoops that seems to be the USA, Edit when I find the numbers,

The UK offered protection, in the form of asylum, humanitarian protection, alternative forms of leave and resettlement, to 14,734 people (including dependants) in 2021. Of these:
  • 81% were granted refugee status following an asylum application (‘asylum’)
  • 6% were granted humanitarian protection
  • 2% were granted alternative forms of leave (such as discretionary leave, UASC leave)
  • 11% were granted refugee status through resettlement schemes
From
I highlighted including dependents.

Whereas you are the polar opposite.

"oh look I’ve found one supermarket with no tomatoes…so must all be empty of tomatoes”

”oh look I’ve found one foreigner that’s not a criminal…so all foreigners are not criminals”

“oh look I’ve found one person not scrounging benefits…so nobody is a scrounger”

”oh look Boris Johnson has told a truth ….so every politician must be a truthful”

You still didn’t and you still won’t say what you thought of Albanians entering illegally and posing as refugees. So yet more swerving and avoidance from you. Typical.

One more time. What do you think of Albanians posing as refugees?

Because they convince us they are genuine? Often, these illegals are coached on what to say when interviewed.
Is that because border force aren't paid enough to get capable people. Seems they have been on strike and of course all of the problems are their fault.

Do the border force interview and make asylum decisions?
