A go fund me page has been set to help him

He'll need all he can get. I'd imagine jail and a couple of hundred grand fine. It's not just the police who'll be after their pound of flesh but in this case the HSE too. Then you've had it.

Nowhere near. Few hundred quid, max.

This is not America (yet).

It depends how they see him considering he is a CPCS operator. The average fine issued for 'duty holders' negligence last year was £147,000. Up from the year before which averaged £126k.

It's not just what he's done, there are people aready on the record (I've seen on different news sites) saying they had a narrow escape from actually being hit by something or the machine while inside the lobby.

If it is only a few hundred quid I'd be very much surprised.

They going to put his actions down to "negligence"???..how about serious crim damage, indangering lives?

Hell only get fined what he can reasonably afford.
Who was your "average dutyholder", when you quoted those figures? Not workers, in the main.

Your average duty holder doesn't drive an excavator through an almost complete building where people are working. I suppose we'll see and it might not be into the hundreds of thousands but I'd put money on it'll be more than a few hundred quid.

As would I, re: a couple of hundred grand.

There's another video showing some of the internal 'adjustments' he made...

I have been owed £500 for jobs I did.

I never went bersek.

Surely it would have been better to complain to the local press (get good coverage) without putting your liberty in jeopardy?

He could have been complaining for ages, could have not been paid before, could have made him miss his rent/mortgage payment, who knows.

£600 is an awful lot to an awful lot of people.
