I came down with what I thought was a cold on the Monday, now 9 days ago, tested positive on the Tuesday, retested positive of Friday and retested positive again today Wednesday. In the meantime, I gone through sore throat, coughing, feeling cold, sleeping more and loss of appetite - all normal now, apart from my appetite has not returned, and sleeping more. How long before the test usually shows negative?

I tested positive for 5 days......’Er indoors (who presumably infected me) was positive for 18!
I guess it’s somewhere in between. Thankfully we remained pretty well throughout.

I guess it depends on the person. I tested negative after a week, wife was positive a few days after that. I started to feel ill a little over a week before but tested negative. We both had some similarities in symptoms but we also had unique ones for us too.

Ill for 7 days. Tested positive for 12 days.

My sister in 2020 was positive for 52 days and stayed locked indoors.
WTF???

Friday, 11 days and now showing negative. My last one on Wednesday (day 9) was showing a weaker line at the T, so I wasn't sure.

the ridiculous inaccuracies of the pcr tests led to the asymptomatic rubbish where it was said that if your cheap shotty Chinese pcr kit said that you had COVID but no symptoms, you could still be a spreader. Also the lateral flow device was another Chinese joke that locked is in our homes under false pretences( false positives )
