Cutting out/down on the Drink.

Mate booked cruise.
Messaged me last week and said..
On a cruise now from Southampton so no flights. £115 a night for bed, unlimited food, entertainment (shows, surfing, ice skating, poker plus of course transport to different ports. Bargain.

Booked another for 2028 with balcony for £128
Yeah, I have a mate like that. Some people do look at the per person, per night cost when booking a cruise. Ours is coming out at just over £300 pppn but that was for a suite including flights to Malta and a £320 cabin spend. Most people that look at the pppn cost usually cruise from the U.K. in an inside, no frills cabin. That’s fine if you only use your cabin for dressing and sleeping but we do like at least a balcony to sit out on and this will be our first suite as we are treating ourselves from the sale of the workshop.

My mate had a superb cruise. Loved it....

I am on holiday and I took a week off work to sort out my life away from drink and stress, it's funny but I keep finding myself in pubs more than if I were at home. The big difference though is that I am drinking less and enjoying a drink as a treat rather than a crutch. The problem with drinking is that it is so easy to slip another one in and then just another. I think I may have had a drink problem without actually realising it, now that I accept that I may have had one it is easier to control. I don't feel I am missing out by not drinking and like today, I am going for a run and doing some hill walking, after which I may have a cider in the pub but that will be it. So yes you can have a drink or two like anyone and control the amount you have.
Every alcoholic will have been at this stage and usually many times

Taking time out and suddenly back “in control “ in their mind

Not saying you are alcoholic
