Foodbanks .... I got well and truly educated..... drop something in the supermarket contributions

The benefits systems is at the root of all this evil.

And who controls that?

Today we have heard on this forum how both the benefits system and the police have failed us. Isn't it time people started to put the blame on those in charge of these services?

The problem with you leftys: You think that those of us who vote a different way don't care for nothing other than ourselves and Jack.
You probably havent noticed the posts by ihavenojob where he says people only need food banks because they dont manage their money well.

Do you have to be a "lefty" to appreciate, and want a welfare system in place?

Can you not be central, or even right leaning to consider it as good ?

For the record, I am most definitely not a "lefty".
This is the crazy tribal politics we live in now.
I am totally anti Boris Johnson because he is a narcissistic liar, so I get called a Corbyn supporter, which I am not.

How you feeling today?.... .... Lefty

It seems that anybody who thinks it is right look after people who cannot work can be called a leftie / commie / socialist / Corbynista.

It is used to stop discussion, and it usually works.

I notice you're new here..
Please take no notice of Bodd. He often declares untrue things as truth and when called up on it, he starts talking even more nonsense, often unrelated. He refuses to address the original comment.

Talking to him is a complete waste of anyone's time.

Isn't a shame that society has stooped this low?
I was brought up that caring about those less fortunate was a good thing. Now it's seen as a weakness. How nasty we have become as a whole.

Some who complain about to much money being spent on welfare usually believe that they will never need help from the state, but they are first to complain when they or their elderly relatives can't get the support they need because of cutbacks.

Yep, and introduced by the Liberals in 1911. Idea copied from the Germans. The Tories voted against it!

What a sweeping statement Andy.
Ironically you sound like the sort of person who could benefit most from the welfare system you despise.
Don't you know that paying for a private appointment with a psychiatrist costs a fortune these days.

Contributing food is not solving the problem, its perpetuating it.

The same ones on here defending foodbanks want to absolve themselves of their guilt by putting a few items of shopping in a collection.

Contributing food may not be solving the problem, but people need charity. The only people that can solve the problem is the government, but we know that is not going to happen any time soon.

There was a time not so long ago that welfare did not exist - soup kitchens, hospitals etc. were all run by church and charity. We are slowly shifting back to those glory days.

It has to be pointed out that this decline in living standards has really gained pace while the UK has been a member of the EU.
So much for the myth that the EU is a guarantor of workers rights.
