luckily have a spark who actually does understand heating systems, just got him into heat pumps, hes loving it, dont need him on most jobs as its second nature and im not adding so not breaking any law, ive asked him exactly what i can and cant do and as long as we dont add fused spurs etc and just replace its all above board

Nice one, my friend :)

When RGI inspect a boiler installation they should ask to see the E I certificate or M W certificate if it's like for like it still needs a M W certificate

True (although a boiler would only need an EI if it was on its own circuit, but this is 2391 territory here)

But yes, generally a MWEIC will suffice.

You can change like for like.

Or just stick a plug on the end.

As said Not met a spark yet that can wire a boiler and controls without having to be told how.

Boilers come under part p of the building regs my friend, I suggest you read it

So you have to notify the installation of the boiler sweetheart. Nothing in the benchmark about the wires.

Look at the section under controls sweetie!!!!

Fixed equipment must be wired to a FCU (BS7671)

Manufactures instructions also denote fixed equipment MUST be wired to a DOUBLE POLE Fused Connection Unit. How does a plug top possibly comply?????

No my friend you are the stupid one if you leave a boiler wired up to a plug top. Not very professional and against BS7671 and manufactures instructions, Read them if you dont believe me, dont shoot the messenger!!
