Because it is 240v and has been long before the bureaucrats decided to call it 230v.

I fully understand it. The quoted nominal is wrong.

If it exists in name only then it doesn't exist in reality so you are claiming that a non existant voltage is wrong.

MOD: This ridiculous argument about nominal voltage has nothing to do with this thread. Perpetrator of the diversion is barred from further comment on this thread.

The question was answered before Winston threw in his bug bears. The issue is not really about the voltage. It is on posting wrong information. If somebody comes here for advice, the advice we give should be accurate. I’m sure we could quote regs we have issues with but hold back to prevent confusion.
