Coal is one issue but when faced with rubbish piling up in the streets and the dead being unburied,then Callaghan and his loony Labour lot are to blame for everything Thatcher visited upon us.It will be the same in 30 yrs time when Cameron will be judged,is it his fault the economy is in such dire straights or the previous Labour one,common theme here.

Basically Thatcher put a band aid on a failing country - any extreme , Right or Left wing is a bad thing . But much worse is a B liar who fooled people into thinking Old Style Left Socialism could be modified and made into a true New Labour - fooled me , much to my disgust

She wanted to break the unions no matter the cost and scargill was trying to defend them although it could have been done better but look at where we are today..........no mines ,no unions and mass unemployment so really nobody won

But many would say Scargill tried to break the Government, as many unions did, difference is, she stood up to him.
Ironically, that's what the NMU have done too. He can now pay for his own LUXURY flat at the Barbican!!

Mrs Thatcher, the milk snatcher - took free milk from Primary School children; illegally sank the Argentine Cruiser Belgrano, killing hundreds of men; engineered the Miners Strike and turned Britain into a Police State; shamefully, willfully ignored Merseyside in the early Eighties, agreeing to leave it "withering on the vine'; deregulated Banking - that was a really good idea wasn't it?; sold our national assets: Utilities, Rail etc; introduced the Poll Tax! oh and allowed selfish people to pay a little bit less tax...sod everyone else eh?

You can't hold that against her.
Because they had the balls to stand up for themselves,like the miners did and it was her intention to quash them no matter what.........while the rest of the country just accepted it
Yeh and we were supposed to become a banking nation with the trickle down effect feeding down to ordinary people, theres only one thing trickeling down most peoples backs
Where did it get them,oh! I know some 30 yrs later whinging on a diy site! get a life, move on,you never know there might be someone just a tad more ****ed off, somewhere, somehow.
