If you can't get treatment the mortality rate of the British variant is well over the standard 2%. They don't have much sequencing capability so it's possible there's an even nastier version wandering around.

They're on the cusp of the saturation point where those that should easily survive with O2 will be dying because they can't get it.

The stats are going to be massive underestimates for cases and probably also deaths. Some areas are hitting 50% of test as positives, that means you're missing a lot of people.

A truly awful situation. Oxygen shortages, people being cremated out of necessity without death certificates. Hundreds of thousands of cases per day and thousands sadly dying.

The vast numbers being infected cause a massive opportunity for the virus to further mutate which is something was should all be concerned about.

They said on the radio undertakers body count was at least half the Government count, and there must be huge proportion that can't afford undertakers. A massive tragedy.

They use local cremation, kind of "adhock" often just piling branches on the body and setting fire to it. In the smaller villages/towns, they are doing this right outside the hospital.
