They're still killing black people but under the auspices of law enforcement.
I think it's fair to say that the religion didn't grow up, it lost a lot of its followers, and those it retained became less ardent.
Islam is still in the 11th century. No doubt about that.

Which is no bad thing.
Fastest growing does appear to be solely down to the birth rate so just the brain-washing.
It's not like millions of people are thinking "Wow, that is a good idea; I must join".
